Raymond Earl Adam Jonathan Campbell, preferring the nickname Ray born June 15, 1956 is Tamera's and Tia’s adoptive father. He runs his own limousine service.

Relationships[]

Lisa Landry[]

Lisa and Ray are total opposites who hated each other at first due to their differences. They soon grew to like each other and eventually started a relationship in the fourth season, though they ended it in Season 5. They maintain a great friendship. Ray and Lisa once accidentally kissed in the season one episode "The Concert" while dancing (only to find out that they were both thinking of their high school crushes while kissing).

Tia Landry[]

Though Ray is Tamera's adoptive father, he has more in common with Tia. They are both intellectual and have more dignified personalities than Tamera and Lisa.

Ellen Campbell[]

Ellen was Ray's wife. They adopted Tamera together, but Ellen died shortly after. After 15 years had passed, Ray was still in love with Ellen and would not move on, which resulted in Ellen's appearance in "Guardian Angel".

Tamera Campbell[]

Tamera is Ray’s adoptive daughter, and he loves her very much. He can be overprotective of her sometimes, though it’s out of love. They have a strong father-daughter relationship, and though they sometimes fight (most likely due to Tamera’s partying habit and/or school) they always make up in the end.

Trivia[]

  • When he was in college, Ray was arrested for "streaking".
  • Season 4, Episode 5: Sis Boom Bah - It was revealed that he was the first and last male cheerleader at Roosevelt High School; where he was known as "Rah Rah Ray".
  • On his online dating profile, Lisa described him as a late 20s, hard-bodied and nicknamed "The Stallion".
  • His biggest weakness is attractive women, who often seduce him. A recurring joke when he’s being seduced is that he often accidentally says something about a woman's body while speaking to them, like saying "breast" while trying to say "rest" or "chardonaked" instead of "chardonnay".
  • He used to impersonate Harry Belafonte in front of the mirror.
  • Ray was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and the Republican Party.
